Moved to upstate New York, then to Lexington, Ky. where he was a reporter then editor for the Lexington Leader until 1947; author of five novels; taught creative writing at the University of Kentucky 1947-1952; moved back to Montana and became an environmentalist. Died in Bismarck, N. D. and was buried in Choteau, Montana.)
